WHY WE EXIST

The questions before the brief.

The questions before the brief.

The most valuable questions in any organisation are usually the ones nobody's sure how to ask, so they sit unanswered while decisions get made around them.

We exist for those questions.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

"The answers to the most important questions already exist. They just haven’t been found yet."

OUR STORY

Supersense was started by two engineers. James spent his career in defence R&D, deep in signal processing and sensing. Matts was spent in remote sensing and medical devices, taking real products from concept to manufacture.

In 2022 they came together around one question: could sensing technology help people with dementia stay in their own homes for longer? Answering it took user research, physics modelling, prototypes and experimental work.

The outcome was SenS2, and a new way of working. A method for taking ambitious technical questions apart and finding out whether they were real. Now we apply that method to other organisations questions.

THE FOUNDERS

CEO & FOUNDER

Dr James Brown

James has a PhD in airborne passive radar systems and spent his career in defence R&D, building teams and shaping sensing strategy across major programmes. He’s an active mentor and an Army Reserve veteran.

CTO & FOUNDER

Dr Matt Ash

Matt has a PhD in phased array radar systems and 10 years in medical technology, where he led the work that took several devices from concept through to manufacture. He’s the author of widely-cited journal papers and patents in the field. SenS2 began with his mother’s dementia diagnosis.
